As the first night of The Interfraternity Council/Panhellenic Dance Marathon (Thon) ends, dancers are finding motivation in every aspect of the event.
"The line dance definitely gets me going every time we do it,"said Katie Prichard (junior-kinesiology), a dancer for the kinesiology club.
Chrissy Geiger (senior-human development and family studies), a dancer for Kappa Alpha Theta, said she enjoyed the beginning of Thon the best.
"So far, I liked the start of it because our family came," she said. "You saw your motivation."
Other dancers said they rely on the friends they have on the floor.
"I'm doing surprisingly well," Paul McNeill (senior-marketing), a dancer for Sigma Alpha Mu, said. "I'm here with a lot of friends, so it's really easy."
Jessie Levin (senior-marketing), a dancer for Kappa Delta, cited the slides of strength as her favorite activity.
"You get 10 seconds to lie down. It's awesome." Levin said.
And while most dancers said they are still going strong and feeling good, Jake Hoffer (junior-professional golf management), a dancer for the professional golf management student society, summed up the group's general feeling.
"Come back in about 20 hours and we'll see how I feel," Hoffer said.
