A small fire occurred at about 3 p.m. today at the Hotel State College building, 100 W. College Ave.

The fire occurred in the air space between floors, Alpha Fire Company assistant chief Keith Yocum said.

Yocum said the whole building was evacuated and the fire was extinguished "shortly after."

The building was reopened by 4:30 p.m., he said.

Yocum said the fire marshal was still investigating the cause of the fire and he was unsure when the investigation would be finished.
