Alleged thief waives prelim. hearing

The preliminary hearing for a Penn State student who allegedly attempted to steal thousands of dollars in property from a fraternity was continued until Feb. 28.

Alexander H. Fallecker, 18, is facing charges of burglary, theft, recovering stolen property and underage drinking. Police said Fallecker attempted to steal three CD cases containing 434 CDs, valued at about $2,568, a $300 iPod, a $50 wireless mouse, $50 headphones, a $50 hard drive, a $15 Fedora hat and a check made out to the fraternity for an unspecified amount.

Woman waives hearing in assault case

A Penn State graduate student facing aggravated assault charges for allegedly biting and spitting at a police officer and nurse while intoxicated waived her preliminary hearing yesterday, according to court documents.

Penn State University Police said Jenna E. Samra, 22, of the 100 block of North Gill Street, was found drunk lying on the ground north of the Hammond Building, police sad. According to court documents, Samra became "combative" during evaluation from an emergency medical technician. Once at the hospital, police said Samra bit an officer's left hand and a nurse's finger, breaking the skin.
