PSU basketball solution may lie in Duquesne coach
As the Penn State men's basketball team and its small core of semi-devoted fans suffer through yet another winter of frustrating futility, I offer one small but shining glimmer of hope. The efforts of a proven experienced program rebuilder can result in success at a school that faces significant recruiting handicaps, an ambivalent student body and a long history of losing. The proof is Duquesne University, and the coach is Ron Everhart. Surely, Penn State can offer Mr. Everhart the salary and resources that would dwarf those that would be available to him at Duquesne. Now is the time to make the bold move that the current situation demands. Maybe Mr. Everheart can be the "Braveheart" that frees Penn State basketball from the shackles of persistent failure.
