Student attacked outside apartment

A 21-year-old Penn State student was attacked by two men Saturday morning outside his apartment complex, State College police said.

Police said the victim exchanged words with another male resident of the complex at 219 Waupelani Drive Police said one man hit the victim in the face and pulled him to the ground, and the other man hit the victim several times. Both men, who are Penn State students, were identified but charges have not yet been filed, police said. The victim, who had several small lacerations on the face and a laceration on the back of his head, was treated by medical personnel, police said. Police said it appeared unlikely that the victim knew the two men.

Student caught stealing from fraternity

A Penn State student attempted to steal thousands of dollars in property from a fraternity but was apprehended after fraternity members reported the incident and chased him, police said.

Alexander Fallecker, 18, is facing charges of burglary, theft, recovering stolen property and underage drinking.

Police said fraternity members of Alpha Kappa Lambda, 339 Fraternity Row, returned to their house at about 2:20 a.m. Saturday and saw a man leaving the house with stolen property.

The items stolen were three CD cases containing 434 CDs, valued at about $2,568, a $300 iPod, a $50 wireless mouse, $50 headphones, a $50 hard drive, a $15 Fedora hat and a check made out to the fraternity for an unspecified amount, police said.

Police said fraternity members chased the suspect and a "minor scuffle" occurred. During this scuffle, the suspect dropped a number of the items and fled, police said. Police apprehended the suspect at Locust Lane and East Beaver Avenue. The suspect was found to be carrying the remaining stolen items, police said.

Woman falls from second-story window

A 22-year-old Patton Township resident was hospitalized after she fell out of a second story window at 338 W. College Ave. at about 1 a.m. Saturday, State College police said.

The woman was found lying next to a parked vehicle in a driveway, police said. She was conscious and talking but had abrasions and was bleeding on the right leg around the knee and ankle, police said. Witnesses said they thought the woman was vomiting out the window before she fell, according to police. Alcohol appeared to be a contributing factor to the incident and "foul play" does not appear to be involved, police said. The woman is currently in Geisinger Medical Center in Danville.

Student assaulted by group of men

A Penn State student was punched and kicked by a group of unknown men at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday in the hallway of Cedarbrook Apartments, 309 E. Beaver Ave., police said. The victim refused medical treatment, police said.

Purse stolen from woman downtown

An 18-year-old Penn State student reported a man grabbed her purse and ran away early Saturday morning. The woman said she was walking in front of Cinema 5, 116 Hiester St., when a college-aged white male grabbed her purse and ran toward College Avenue, police said. The woman described the man as 5 foot 9 inches tall, 185 lbs., with a dark complexion and wearing a dark jacket and dark ski cap, police said.
