In its most dominating performance at home this season, the No. 7 Penn State men’s volleyball team defeated No. 15 St. Francis tonight in Rec Hall, 3-0, (30-21, 30-26, 30-26).
Sophomore Matt Anderson led the team in kills with 19, hitting with a .342 clip. Senior Alex Gutor was second in kills for the Nittany Lions with 12 and had a .364 hitting percentage.
Defensively, senior libero Ryan Walthall had nine digs on the night and helped lead the team to six total team blocks.
The Red Flash (5-3, 2-1) squad was led by freshman Jordan Varee and senior Marc Honore. Varee hit with a .667 clip and Honore had 11 kills on the night.
The Nittany Lions (5-2, 2-0) will take on George Mason at 8 tomorrow night in the South Gym of Rec Hall. This match will conclude three straight EIVA matches for the Lions.
