Penn State: Former Harvard coach to lead women's soccer team

Collegian Staff Writer

The Penn State women's soccer team has found a replacement for Paula Wilkins - former Harvard head coach Erica Walsh, sports information director Stephanie Petulla said in a voicemail.

Walsh will join Penn State after Wilkins unexpectedly resigned in late January to join Big Ten rival Wisconsin. Walsh's Crimson had a rough season last year finishing with a 3-13-1 record.

Walsh is also the current head coach for the U.S. Under-17 national team and will look to continue the run of Big Ten championships the Nittany Lions have put together over the past nine years.

Wilkins left Happy Valley with an overall record of 119-19-11, six Big Ten regular-season championships, two Big Ten tournament titles and two trips to the NCAA College Cup during her time at Penn State.
