Letter to the Editor
Lack of respect from team leaves Lions' fan angered

In response to Mr. Cashmann's letter ("Reader to basketball fans: Stop booing competitors," Feb. 6), I have a question to ask. What were you trying to prove by writing a letter about a game you watched on television 800 miles away? Had you been in attendance on Saturday, you would have seen one of the worst officiated games in recent memory.

You would have seen pompous center Carl Landry flex and taunt at the Penn State bench after a making a routine basket. Finally, you would have seen Landry stand at the scorer's table and mock the Penn State fans after the win. I'm guessing you didn't catch that on TV, Mr. Cashmann. You want to know why Penn State fans were booing? We don't put up with that disrespect in Happy Valley. Wins have been hard to come by recently, but when we do, we do it with pride and class. Your last statement was absolutely correct -- we are looking forward to football season. Especially Nov. 3 when we pound your Boilermakers.
