Friday's paper featured the column "Far-left protesters must stop criticizing and offer solutions," a conservative response to the anti-war rally in Washington.
While columnist Mr. Ramagli focused his venting mostly on lame congressional members and actress Jane Fonda, he prompted a question.
Largely directed toward war protesters, Mr. Ramagli simply asked why not try the "troop surge"?
While he readily admitted Iraq is no hot vacation spot, his main contention was why not try to salvage some sort of victory while we have a chance?
All in all an optimistic look to the future of Iraq, the columnist also called out liberal dissenters to produce any other ideas on how to improve the situation or do anything other than burn flags and pass non-binding resolutions.
In a beautiful example of completely missing the point, Holly Hetrick's letter, "Rally against war necessary," (Feb. 5) manages to re-enforce Mr. Ramagli's observations.
Ms. Hetrick lost more ground in her fight with pronouns than al-Maliki in Falujah, saying that she hates what America has become, "because of far-right conservatives" like Mr. Ramagli.
If that wasn't bad enough, Ms. Hetrick, fittingly, completely misses the title of the article she lashes against.
As a far-left protester she should have heeded Mr. Ramagli, stop criticizing and offer a solution.
