Reader to basketball fans: Stop booing competitors

I just finished watching the Purdue-Penn State men's basketball game on a local network. I'm wondering why there was so much booing against the Boilers.

Is it because Purdue is a superior team, beating the Lions twice in one season?

Good grief, with the small crowd at Bryce Jordan Center, it seems the Penn State fans could have saved their voices for cheering on their team rather than raining down a chorus of boos when you let the game get away.

I know you all must be looking forward to the football season.
