It seemed as though fashion week had arrived in downtown State College last night. Simon Hawk, designer for JJ by Maxwell clothing, had his third annual Charity Fashion Show benefiting the House of Care.
Doors opened at 6p.m. where four local designers showcased their work. The labels, Found Clothing, Syta, Housewrecker, and Maxwell's own designs were also shown.
A frenzy of people stood around the tables admiring the work and purchasing clothing.
The theatre was near capacity with the crowd anxiously awaiting for the show to begin at 7p.m. The theme of the first part of the show was "athletics," and the models walked out in the designer's shirts with a sporty accessories such as a baseball bat or boxing gloves. There were four segments of equally different feel. The show ended at about 7:50.
The lobby was filled with buzz about the show and Nick Didonato (junior-economics) said, "I had a great time, there were a lot of eye grabbers."
