In response to "Ed DeChellis needs to go" (Jan. 30) please keep in mind some important factors. First, the college game is changing. Many top talents went right to the NBA and now that the NBA insists on at least one year of college, athletes are not thinking of coming to a program for four years. They want one season at a top school to either win it all or be on national TV every week. This is a major reason why we get in-between recruits -- example, 6-foot-5-inch forwards and 5-foot-10-inch guards. They play hard and many of them are very good, but it's not realistic to think that it is Ed's fault. It's the way the game is until we make the tournament.
