I came into this basketball season with the utmost excitement and kept telling my friends to watch out for Penn State this year. I was really critical in the hiring of men's basketball coach Ed DeChellis, and man was I right. Our program is the laughing stock of the Big Ten. Why is it that every sport in our athletic department seems to be competing for conference titles and national championships every year, but our men's basketball team always seems to come up short? Though I do respect the play of Cornley and Claxton, it is time for Tim Curley to step up and hire a basketball coach who can put this program on some sort of radar in college basketball. Hire outside of Penn State. The tradition of Penn State basketball is losing and it's time to turn a new page. Until then I will continue to watch the games out here in California on television and will continue to be greatly disappointed in our program coming from the head down.
