Mr. Myers, apparently you forgot one of the golden rules of journalism in your article yesterday ("Student section lacking energy"):
Do your research.
If you had you would be spelling the group's name correctly (Nittwits -- with two t's, like Nittany) and wouldn't be calling us the worst basketball fans. What exactly did you expect out of a student section that's team was down 30 points? The Nittwits aren't the ones you should be critical of, but rather those fair weather fans who are waiting for the next tournament run to jump aboard the bandwagon. If you would have done your research you would have known that these "worst basketball fans" just last year had ESPN call one of their own the best female college basketball fan in all the land.
These bad fans also gathered last year at a local sports bar to watch the Nittany Lions upset #6 Illinois and greeted the team at the airport at 1 a.m., while the rest of the campus was oblivious to the fact. These are also the same Nittwits who traveled by bus to New Jersey right before finals week, and Ann Arbor on the second day of classes to cheer on their team. Mark, my challenge to you is why don't you come sit with the "worst fans" before you judge them?
Since no one else will do it, I just want to thank the Nittwits for all their support and loyalty they have shown throughout the years and I ask them to continue to do so in the future.
