Police say man revealed gun near bar

A male visitor brandished a 9mm gun at about 1:10 a.m. yesterday on the 400 block of East College Avenue near the Cellblock Bar, State College police said.

Police said the suspect, who is not a Penn State student, removed his firearm from his waistband and bragged to witnesses that he was going to "clip someone with his nine."

The suspect produced a valid permit for the gun, though police confiscated it at the scene. Police said charges are pending against the suspect and the case is under investigation.
