SAAB to collect THON donations at games

Members of Penn State's Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAB) will be seeking contributions for the Four Diamonds Fund/Dance Marathon at upcoming Penn State basketball and wrestling events.

SAAB volunteers will be stationed near the Bryce Jordan Center gates prior to Sunday's Lady Lion game with Iowa at 1 p.m. and the Nittany Lions' contest with Purdue on Saturday, Feb. 3 at noon. SAAB volunteers also will be at Rec Hall on Sunday, Feb. 4 prior to the wrestling match with Iowa at noon, Penn State's final home competition this season.

SAAB also is selling cookbooks with recipes from current and former student-athletes for $10 to benefit The Four Diamonds Fund ($12 by mail). The cookbook was produced in 2005.

In addition, a motorcycle autographed by Penn State football coach Joe Paterno is being raffled for THON. The custom chopper is on display at the Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center. Just 500 tickets at $200 each are available for the raffle, with all proceeds going to the Four Diamonds Fund. To purchase a raffle ticket, please contact Megan Kendrick, Public Relations Overall, at public.relations@thon.org.
