Man who approached boy identified

The State College Police Department reported that it has identified the suspect police thought attempted to lure an 11-year-old boy behind a building Sunday.

Police said the 30-year-old man is mentally handicapped and resides near the Knights of Columbus building, 850 Stratford Drive, where the incident occurred.

Police added that no criminal acts occurred during the incident and there will be no criminal charges.

Woman reports Dell laptop, digital camera stolen from her residence

An apartment on the 100 block of North Gill Street was burglarized between 5 p.m. Monday and 5 p.m. Tuesday, the State College Police Department said.

Police said that the resident reported a $2,000 Dell laptop and a $250 Kodak digital camera were both stolen from her residence on Gill Street.

Police said the apartment was vacant and locked during the theft, but one of the windows had a broken lock prior to the burglary.

Police said that there were no signs of forced entry into the woman's residence.
