Pedestrians, take care when crossing

In light of recent serious traffic accidents involving pedestrians being struck by vehicles, I think it might be a good time to once again mention the behavior of said pedestrians.

Don't get me wrong.

I feel for the victims, but I am one of the drivers on this campus, and let me remind you, 3,200 pounds in motion can't stop on a dime.

I'm fairly certain pedestrians don't have right-of-way everywhere.

So cross only in marked areas, pause your cell phone conversation - it's still your responsibility to look both ways, and be quick about it; don't give me the lazy shuffle.

I don't drive on your part (sidewalk), so be courteous and respectful when you trample all over my road.
