Gameshow provides fun
I definitely agree with Christopher Grassi ("Price is Right obsession out of control on campus," Dec.) 1 that Penn State is a "big sports school" and it probably is not necessary to have both televisions broadcasting The Price Is Right. That being said, I strongly disagree with your belief that Penn State students (and by assumption, the rest of the U.S. population) have a morbid obsession with this game show. I highly doubt that CBS would have invested in such a game show if it had not been so successful and popular. After all, this show has been on television for just about 40 years. Tell me another game show or any other syndicated program that has been on for that amount of time. The show appeals to everyone, regardless of his or her demographic. It's fun, it's silly, and people enjoy it. So if you'd rather watch G.W. while you chow on your Wheaties, perhaps you ought to eat in your dorm room. Brian Filtz
