Burglar steals jewelry, silverware
An unknown individual entered a house on the 700 block of West Park Avenue Thursday afternoon by prying open a rear door to steal jewelry, a silverware set and a rug, according to the State College Police Department.
The burglary occurred at about 3:30 p.m., while the residents of the home were away. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 234-7150.
Two students cited in fraternity fights
Two Penn State students were cited for disorderly conduct after about 100 people were involved in two separate fights between two fraternities early Friday morning.
Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity Vice President David Geiger and Pi Kappa Phi fraternitym, 321 Fraternity Row, President Kyle Heffner both received summary citations in connection with the fights, which both took place at about 2 a.m. on the 400 block of South Garner Street, the State College Police Department said
Bryan Callaghan, president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, 351 E. Fairmount Ave., required stitches after being punched in the mouth during the incidents, police said. The causes of the fights are unknown.
