Lady Lions drop fifth-straight road game to Pitt

Collegian Staff Writer

Though it simply took a journey cross-state, the futility for the Penn State women’s basketball team continues away from the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Lady Lions (4-5), reeling from four straight road defeats, dropped a fifth, losing 60-51 at Pittsburgh last night. Senior center Amanda Brown celebrated her 22nd birthday with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but it was not enough to lead Penn State to victory. Guard Adrienne Squire contributed 14 points.

In the first 9:30 of the second half, Penn State was held to just four points, allowing the Panthers to pull away. Center Marcedes Walker led Pittsburgh with 12 points.

The Lady Lions return home at 3 p.m. tomorrow to take on Old Dominion. The 1,000,000th Lady Lion basketball fan will walk through the turnstiles at the game.
