Chamberlin said some students had already signed up to speak at the meeting, but the specific agenda would not be ready until a later date.
Mallory Gold, UPUA director of media relations, said students who would like to make a formal presentation at the meeting should register with Katy Hatfield at ksh169@psu.edu.
Gold said she expected most students to just show up at the meeting. She said she expects preregistration to become more common once the meeting schedule is better established.
"We want as many people there as possible," she said. "Anyone can have the opportunity to speak."
Chamberlin said one issue that would probably be discussed is the first-year seminar that all freshmen must take.
The faculty senate will debate whether the seminar should continue to be required at its meeting next week.
Members from the Cabinet of Students Leaders, a group selected by Vice President for Student Affairs Vicky Triponey, might attend the meeting, Chamberlin said.
Henry Hund, Undergraduate Student Government (USG) chief of staff, said he was unaware of the meeting and criticized what he said was a lack of publicity for it. However, he said USG members might attend.
"If USG members hear about it, I'm sure some of them will show up because USG members are engaged and want to hear what UPUA has to say," Hund said.
Committee chairs will also be selected at the meeting, Chamberlin said. UPUA committees have not met since the last UPUA meeting, which was held two weeks ago.
"Because of Thanksgiving, we really haven't had a chance to do much over the past two weeks," he said.
Gold said that there would be two more UPUA meetings held this semester after the town hall meeting.
A work session on Dec. 10 and a general meeting on Dec. 17. Both meetings are at 1:30 p.m.
Chamberlin said that a set meeting and office hours schedule would probably not begin until the beginning next semester -- after improvements are made.
"We're really going to see over the next couple of weeks how the meetings work," he said.
