Letter to the Editor
Column underminded importance of home

I am writing this letter in response to Lana Ulrich's column "Going home is ok for a bit, but students
will always miss PSU." (Nov. 27)

Lana, while I agree with you that students will always miss Penn State, I believe that you have completely undermined all of the goodness that a vacation at home truly has to offer.

Home is where you get to relax, and forget about all of the stress that we experience here at Penn State.

Home is to be cherished and valued, not something that should be taken for granted.

After all, what other time does a fellow Penn State-er get to sleep until noon, eat good home-cooked food, and catch up with their old pals?

Home is where you toss the pigskin around with your old man, walk your dog around the block and just do some good old-fashioned thinking.

I know I get my best thinking done at home, where I am relaxed and at peace.

I have a good feeling that many of the readers of your column have a much different opinion concerning their trips home.

So, the next time you go home, take a step back and realize how good your parents have been to you and how lucky you really are.
