Letter to the Editor
Leaders should focus on more important problems

Ok, so Michael Richards is a racist. Does everyone feel better now?

The Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world pompously gloat over such incidents.

Everyone can act oh-so-concerned over this 'oppression' and convince themselves they've done something which is a nice trick since they never had to leave their chair or really sacrifice anything.

Why don't the Jacksons, Sharptons and other self-proclaimed moral arbiters get busy addressing poverty and ignorance? Could it be they need to keep poverty and ignorance so they have an audience to which they can play?

It is much easier and safer to distract attention from real problems by demonizing others.
