Letter to the Editor
Fans lacking enthusiasm should stay in living room

This is in response to the letter, "Alumnus lose enthusiasm" (Nov. 27).

Cheers to Becky Cantor and her letter.

In her letter, Cantor states that Penn State alumni should stand and be excited for big plays during our football games.

My friend passed this letter along to me because I had an experience similar to Cantor's.

During the University of Michigan game, I stood and cheered for third-down plays only to be continually "nudged" by the alumni behind me to sit down.

These folks, 30 to 40 years older than me, went so far as to pick a fight with me, saying I was being disrespectful.

Funny, I don't recall doing anything but standing and yelling for the defense.

We are all Penn State fans and should be cheering together, not telling others to sit down or be quiet.

Maybe if you're a fan who wants to get comfortable under a blanket and watch the game, you should do it in from the comfort of your living room.
