Mostly cloudy and cooler
SPECIAL SEVERE REPORT

Yesterday’s heavy showers accompanied by strong winds were due to a squall line marching across the state from west to east. The line prompted tornado warnings for northern Center and Clearfield counties. Significant damage was reported in Phillipsburg to five houses, a camper, and a car, but a possible tornado is yet unconfirmed. Wind damage was also reported across northern Pennsylvania and New York with felled trees and power lines. A confirmed tornado in Columbus County, North Carolina killed 8 people after destroying a trailer park.
