Hunt earns accolades for career-best game
Penn State senior tailback Tony Hunt delivered one of the top games of his career Saturday against Temple, rushing for a career-high 167 yards on just 16 carries (10.4 avg.) and scoring a career-best four touchdowns (three rushing).
For his efforts in the Nittany Lions' 47-0 victory, Hunt has been selected Big Ten Co-Offensive Player of the Week, along with Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith. The conference honor is Hunt's first.
Hunt is just the sixth Nittany Lion to record two 1,000-yard rushing seasons, joining an elite list: John Cappelletti (1972-73), Curt Warner (1981-82), Blair Thomas (1987 & '89), Ki-Jana Carter (1993-94) and Curtis Enis (1996-97).
Hunt moved into fifth place on the Penn State career rushing yardage list with 3,032 yards. D.J. Dozier is in fourth place with 3,227 yards.
Hunt eclipsed his previous rushing high of 151 yards, set last season against Wisconsin, early in the third quarter and left the game shortly thereafter.

Penn State head baseball coach Robbie Wine announced the Nittany Lions' 2007 schedule for the program's first season at the new Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Krieger in the running for Hermann Trophy
The Co-Big Ten's Defensive Player of the Year, Ali Krieger is part of the 15-player list of semifinalists for the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy, collegiate women's soccer's version of the Heisman Trophy awarded to the player of the year. One of four defenders on the list, Krieger has done an outstanding job in her final campaign, converting to defense after her injury-plagued Lions needed an anchor in the middle. The 2005 first-team All-American led her team to its ninth-straight Big Ten title as well as its fourth Big Ten Tournament title overall. Krieger and the Lions posted NCAA first and second round victories over the weekend against Niagara (2-1) and Villanova (2-0) and move to the third round in a Sunday, Nov. 19 match-up with Boston College at Jeffrey Field at 1 p.m.
Krieger's inclusion on the list marks the seventh consecutive year a Nittany Lion has been on the M.A.C. Hermann Trophy's list of semifinalists. Cementing its dominant reputation on the national scene, Penn State is the only program to have either the winner or runner-up for the prestigious award in each of the last six years.
