At 11 a.m. today on the HUB ground floor, the senior class gift was unveiled - a Celebration Garden at Rec Hall.

The gift, which was presented to Penn State President Graham Spanier, will improve the area near the main entrance with a garden and seating.

The Celebration Garden was one of three finalists for the senior class gift. The other two finalists were "Enhancing of Fisher Plaza" and "Benches and Beautification of the Allen Street Mall."

About 2,800 seniors voted on one of the options, according to Laura Unger, the communications chairperson for the 2007 Senior Class Gift Committee. The Celebration Garden was a "clear winner," she said.

The gift is completely financed by donations from seniors. Any senior interested in donating can do so online at www.seniorclassgift.psu.edu.
