Kerry deserves 'scolding'

The "scolding" delivered to John Kerry by the Collegian ("Kerry remarks were inappropriate mistake," Nov. 6), contrary to what some others may believe, was just what he deserved. Of course it would make sense that Kerry would not want to criticize the troops being a veteran himself, but that is what he did. I do not care if it was a botched joke - he said what he said. I just thank God that he's a former presidential candidate making botched jokes that insult our troops rather than our president making botched jokes that insult foreign governments, the Iraqi people, so on and so forth. John Kerry does not think before he speaks and it was evident the day of his "botched joke." To make matters worse, the man just would not apologize. John Kerry is an incompetent and stubborn hypocrite. Let's leave the Republicans out of this one, shall we? Kerry is indeed an experienced politician and should know how to deliver a speech by now. Let us just hope that his remarks put the final nail in the coffin of his possible presidential candidacy in 2008.
