Residence Life to change programming

The Association of Residence Hall Students (ARHS) passed a unanimous resolution at its meeting last night recommending that Residence Life remove College Sports Television, WGN Chicago and FSN Pittsburgh from the residence hall cable networks and add the Food Network, the Disney Channel and the Travel Channel. The resolution recommends that the changes not take effect until next fall. ARHS passed a second resolution recommending that the Fox Soccer Channel not be removed, citing its popularity among international students. Six students spoke to ARHS members during the meeting's open student forum, some of them in favor of keeping FSN Pittsburgh. However, ARHS members said keeping the channel would have caused housing costs to increase too much.
