The 2007 Interfraternity Council/ Panhellenic Dance Marathon (Thon) has been shortened to 46 hours this year, two hours less than the customary 48 hours.
According to a press release, the shortened length of time is due to Thon's move from Penn State's Rec Hall to the Bryce Jordan Center. The motivation for the move is to increase saftey, support services, and expand campus participation and involvement in the event.
On March 27, a Thon press release announced that Thon would end at 4 p.m. on the last day, instead of the customary 7 p.m. At the time, Thon officials were unsure of the exact time length due to flexible start times.
