Healthy eating overrated
I love to eat and hate to exercise and I don't care who knows it. Consequently, I'm sick and tired of people telling me to drag myself to the gym and eat health food. So when I read Ethan Fallon's column, "Colder weather saps motivation to exercise," Oct. 19, it only made me want to go gorge at the Creamery. It is my God-given, American right to eat deep-fried Twinkies, salt my beef jerky, down a whole box of Poprocks and chase it with a two-liter of Coke, if I so choose. And most likely I'll be sitting in front of the TV or computer screen while I'm doing it. Go ahead -- call me unhealthy, irresponsible, misinformed, immature, unladylike, fat, lazy, pathetic...I don't care. I've heard it all before and I'm still going to continue the health habits I have now, so don't waste your time arguing with me. Anyway, there are much worse things I could be doing to harm my body than eating junk food and being lazy. (Does 'Thirsty Thursday' ring a bell to anyone?). So go ahead, Mr. Fallon, treat your body like a temple. I'll still treat mine like a tent. Shantay Sirko
