Penn State pride shown at parade

Collegian Staff Writer

The 2006 Penn State homecoming parade reached downtown State College at 6:30 last night, greeted by streets packed with cheering students, alumni, and community members

The parade featured hundreds of student organizations, with colorful floats ranging in themes from Ice Age to The Price is Right to American Gladiator. The variation in themes was appreciated by onlookers.

"I'm impressed," Ian Sutcliffe, class of 2004, said. "The themes have been really good."

Following the conclusion of the parade, the Penn State community moved to the Old Main lawn for the annual homecoming pep rally, where Ben Jabara and Shartaya Mollet were crowned this years homecoming king and queen.
