I watched on TV the Michigan-Penn State football game with much optimistic enthusiasm.
The "White Out" student section is a view to behold, very awesome. But, again we came up short against Michigan.
I feel emotional pain for the football players, coaches and students.
However, one play stands out in my mind. When Michigan defensive lineman No. 80, Alan Branch, (who is over 300 lbs.) sacked quarterback Anthony Morelli, I was appalled.
What a vicious hit.
Maybe it wasn't a late hit, but he took direct aim, using his helmet as a battering ram, at the neck-chin area of our quarterback.
In my estimation, the intent was to cause injury, nothing less.
In the NFL, that would have been a penalty.
If memory serves me correctly, two years ago against Michigan we had Zack Mills and Michael Robinson both injured and knocked out of the game, and had to finish with our third-string quarterback just like this year.
Maybe the NCAA should be tasked to investigate the coaching methods and philosophy taught to the Michigan football team.
