UPUA's booting of Bundy in school's best interest

While I respect Undergraduate Student Government President Nick Stathes' opinion that the UPUA's decision to disqualify Bundy is rather undemocratic, I find that I cannot help but support the turnover of the presidency to Jay Chamberlin.

Beyond the fact that I voted for Chamberlin, I have come to the following conclusion as to why this 'undemocratic upset' is actually in our best interest.

If we, as a student body, are truly ridiculous enough to elect a president who neither respects us nor has any real interest in advocating for us, then I'm afraid we are not yet mature enough to deserve democratic autonomy.

That the majority of those who actually bothered to vote gave their support to Mr. Bundy tells me that we as a student body cannot yet be trusted to make good decisions or to see the big picture and take credit for the consequences of our actions. So I say kudos to the UPUA chairs and transition heads who have saved us from ourselves.
