Letter to the Editor
PSU working together would promote equals

As a student, I feel I am exposed to many different cultures and diverse groups. And I support equality for all races or orientation or any other diverse group. Both Jesse Mowry's ("LGBTA community articles offend Penn State student," Oct. 13) and Danielle Davis' (LGBTA member fires back," Oct. 16) letters, however, do not focus on groups and discrimination. Jesse's comments may have been expressed wrongly, but what was trying to be said is that he or she personally felt offended.

When I offend someone I apologize even if I do not understand why. Then I ask why they took offense.

Danielle answered with sarcasm in her last sentence that said "Thank you for standing up for heterosexuals who are tired of hearing about oppression."

Jesse was not acting in ignorance, for that person could support LGBTA's ideals on everyone being equal. They were just asking for a change in terminology. Simply because, if I went to a person outside of campus and told them it was the year of the fag, he or she would not understand either. Let us work together for equality for all groups.
