A 25-year-old State College resident was arraigned on a charge of rape yesterday and placed in Centre County Prison in lieu of $200,000 bail for allegedly choking and sexually assaulting a Penn State student early Sunday morning.

The alleged victim told State College police that Maurice Golden, 300 S. Atherton St., became upset, pushed her onto a bed, straddled her and choked her for more than 30 seconds after she came to his apartment later than they had planned, according to a criminal complaint.

She told police that she attempted to leave the place, but Golden grabbed her and told her to stay there, according to a criminal complaint.

The criminal complaint states that Golden allegedly started touching her breasts and vaginal area.

The alleged victim told police that she repeatedly told Golden "no" and "I'm not doing this" as he

finger-penetrated her, performed oral sex on her and forced intercourse on her, according to the criminal complaint.

According to the complaint, during the incident, Golden told the alleged victim "that she liked it this way and that she could tell others it was rape."

Police said Golden told the alleged victim that he wanted to make her angry so she would never speak to him again, according to the complaint.

According to the complaint, the alleged victim also told police that Golden had burned her with a cigarette on Saturday, and police said in the complaint that they observed a small burn mark on her chest.

The student sought medical treatment at Mount Nittany Medical Center at about 8 p.m. Sunday.

Golden is charged with rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
