Jay Bundy, the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) presidential candidate who received the popular vote, was arrested yesterday and charged with three counts of disorderly conduct, one count of criminal mischief and one count of retail theft.
He is charged with allegedly stealing items totaling about $5 from a Sunoco A-plus Mart in Bloomsburg, at about 6 p.m. yesterday. The disorderly conduct charges stem from Bundy allegedly swearing in a public place and threatening a convenience store clerk.
While being arraigned for these charges, Bundy received a third disorderly conduct charge and one count of criminal mischief for reckless behavior "with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm," according to the criminal complaint, at Judge Craig Long's office in Catawissa.
He is being held at Columbia County Prison on $2,500 bail.
