Student fans disgrace Big Ten Conference, university

I made my voyage to Happy Valley this weekend, intending to see a great game between Big Ten foes at a campus that I remember being very friendly in 2001. My, how times have changed. I had all kinds of objects hurled at me throughout the weekend, including full beers and cupcakes.

One student even tried to vomit on me. As a visiting fan, I expect to hassled and booed.

The behavior I saw this weekend, however, was rivaled only by the cave dwellers in Columbus. To be fair, I did come across a good number of friendly Penn State fans. Sadly, eternal choruses of words that probably can't be printed in this paper drowned them out.

My sister and her friends, all proud Penn State alumnae, apologized frequently for the actions of the masses.

In short, far too many of the students and fans in Happy Valley this weekend were a complete disgrace to your university and to the Big Ten Conference.
