LGBTA community articles offend Penn State student
Well, once again the Collegian has managed to cram another issue full of articles about the LGBTA community. The LGBTA constantly professes they are harassed, discriminated against and that their rights are constantly being violated. I as a Penn State student can't even read the newspaper without hearing something about what is going on in the gay community. This, to me, as a heterosexual, is offensive. Why do you have to include, on the front page no less, statements like, "It's the year of the fag!" (Stories celebrate strength during 'Coming Out' rally, Oct. 13). It would appear that it's perfectly fine for homosexuals to speak out using statements like these, but if ministers of a religious organization come to campus and express their opinions on homosexuality, it is seen as a violation of the LGBTA's rights and must be considered a hate crime. I don't hate anyone, but before you print the next article about any upcoming LGBTA activity, remember what you print can offend heterosexuals. Jesse Mowry
