Members of the Penn State lesbian, gay, bisexual transgender and ally community (LGBTA) gathered at noon today for the annual National Coming Out Day rally on the steps of Old Main.


This year's University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) candidates used the Perspective Mic this afternoon as an opportunity to discuss their platforms one last time with potential voters. The event, held at noon today in the HUB, included presidential candidates Michael Hines and Jay Bundy, as well as Jay Chamberlin's running mate, Mitch Belding.


All three exceutive tickets in the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) presidential race are within about 200 votes, according to released election figures.

A male bicyclist collided with a Penn State student motorist at about 7 p.m. by the intersection of Pollock and Shortlidge roads.


Although the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) elections commission plans to announce the numerical results of today's election tonight, the winner of the presidential race will not be official, Katie Vogel, elections commissioner for candidacy and campaigning, said.

As the campaigns for the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) enter their final day, all the presidential candidates say they would have preferred a more organized election.

Although the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) presidential and vice presidential races have captured most of the attention as of late, 27 UPUA representative positions are also up for election today.

In an effort to increase student voting, Represent Penn State has registered more than 1,200 students to vote in the midterm election by yesterday's deadline.

Yael Bar-Tur's summer got a little more interesting in July. Days at the beach were swapped for hiding out in a bomb shelter with CNN's Anderson Cooper. Tanning by the pool swapped with ducking behind walls with Al-Jazeera reporters.

On the eve of the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA) elections, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) showed no signs of giving up, and the administration appears to be continuing its support.

The Penn State Division I ACHA Icers will be ushering in a new era at the Greenberg Ice Pavilion on Friday. When the hockey team takes the rink for its first home game of the year against Scranton, fans will see a new man behind the bench for Penn State... well, sort of.

As the Penn State men's golf team traveled west to Fairfax, Ca. for the Alister Mackenzie Invitational, the most important thing to do was continue the momentum from its recent championship at the VCU/Mattaponi Springs shootout. The Nittany Lions were able to keep it going for a while, but once again they fell victim to a final-round collapse, standing tied for third after one day of competition.

At this point last year, Joe Paterno was visiting the campsite that shared his namesake, grinning while shaking hands and speaking with the students that created the Happy Valley craze.

During pre-game drills last Friday night, she took a few swings. During the first game, she watched from the sideline with a warm-up jacket over her uniform.

After posting only two shutouts in its first 10 games, the Penn State women's soccer team knew it had to improve its defense to compete in the Big Ten.
