Letter to the Editor
UPUA needs to persuade PSU to listen to students

Allow me to offer some advice to the next crop of student government, or whatever they're calling it now, presidential candidates.

The very first item on your campaign platform should read 'get administration to take student body seriously.'

The administration has not respected student opinion since before my time there.

Examples are evident every week, including the most recent decision to strongarm Paternoville.

By the way, there's not much the administration could do if you citizens of Paternoville decided to camp out anyway. Spanier's "student-centered university" is a public relations joke that I hope no student buys.

It is really time for the 40,000-plus to take a stand, because what you want and what you say should matter. This is both because of your numbers and more importantly your tuition money.

Your presidential candidates can and should be leading this charge; and please, don't vote for the annual secret society candidate who's just looking for another line on his résumé. That's why you have no voice now.
