Alleged drug ringleader Michael "Beanie" Wright, who is accused of leading a group of 15 drug dealers that police say sold more than $800,000 worth of crack cocaine in Centre County, pleaded not guilty to all 21 counts against him.
Jennifer Bierly, Wright's attorney, said Wright, 32, of State College, was bound over for trial at his preliminary hearing Sept. 27.
The group of dealers was arrested May 16, but Wright escaped capture for two months.
He was arrested by police on July 23 in New York City.
Wright was arrested for minor weapons, in addition to drug charges.
He was then taken to Centre County after waiving extradition.
The group is suspected of selling the crack cocaine over a period of 18 months, according to a State College police press release.
The arrests came after an extensive investigation by the State College Police Department and Pennsylvania State Police, according to the press release.
Wright faces 10 counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, five counts of possession of a controlled substance and five counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
He also faces one count of criminal conspiracy, according to court documents.
The five counts of possession of a controlled substance are misdemeanors.
The rest of the charges are felonies, according to court documents.
Wright was placed in Centre County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 bail.
Bierly said that the trial is in the beginning stages.
She added that she has not yet received any discovery from the commonwealth and she is unaware of when the trial will begin.
Assistant District Attorney Karen Kuebler refused to comment.
