MINNEAPOLIS - From the sidelines, sophomore wide receiver Jordan Norwood could only hope that Minnesota kicker Jason Giannini would miss the extra point that would have given the Golden Gophers a seven-point lead in overtime Saturday.

LANCASTER-- At a produce stand on the side of the road somewhere in Lancaster County, an Amish man freezes when he is asked where West Nickel Mines Amish School is located.

SPORTS

In his last race on Penn State soil, senior Dan Mazzocco was once again the star of the show for the Nittany Lions, finishing second with an impressive time of 25:39. He was just seconds shy of the winner from Lock Haven, Ryan Blood. The Penn State runners stayed tough through the finish, but came up short, tying with Cornell for second place at the National Invitational this weekend at the Penn State Blue Course.

The last time the Penn State men's golf team was in action, it was perched atop the leader board at the VCU/Mattaponi Springs Shootout. That victory was nearly two weeks ago, and after an extended layoff, the Nittany Lions will be back on the course today in Fairfax, Ca., for the Alister Mackenzie Invitational.
