Vogel said she expected the debate to last about an hour. She said Trevor Tom (senior-management information systems) will moderate the debate.
Christopher Brink, Jay Bundy's vice presidential candidate, said he was excited for the debate. He said he and Bundy were the ones who originally requested the debate.
"We just kept on them about it, and they eventually made it happen," he said.
"We'd love to get a platform where you can just compare your viewpoints."
Jay Chamberlin, a UPUA presidential candidate, said he is "more than happy" to debate and plans to discuss his platform and plans for UPUA. Harry Saylor, Michael Hines' vice presidential candidate, said he and Hines would be discussing their platform and questioning whether the other candidates would be "up to the job," arguing that he and Hines have more experience with student government than the other candidates. Ashley Hill, a UPUA elections commissioner, said the debate will be the only officially sponsored debate before Wednesday's elections.
Hill said a final "stamping session," where candidates can have campaign materials approved by the election commission, is scheduled for tomorrow at 7 p.m.
She added that she thought Bundy's campaign had spent the most money on materials so far, but the commission would not know for sure until final financial statements are turned in on Wednesday.
