Letter to the Editor
nn State mom ashamed of fan reaction at game

I have always been proud to be a Penn State graduate , and I raised my children to be Penn State fans. On Saturday afternoon my son donned his Youngstown State University band uniform and took the field at Beaver Stadium, and I am ashamed to say that he was booed for his efforts.

This is a young man who sang all the Penn State fight songs along with the Blue Band at the TailGreat in the BJC before the game. It was truly disheartening to hear. No one at YSU really expected to win on Saturday -- the football team came for the chance to play a Big Ten team and the band came to entertain.

I know my son had a great time despite the behavior of the fans, but today's Penn State students need to remember that years from now you may be (Heaven forbid) the parent of a Notre Dame student. Consider how you would want your child to be treated in a similar situation.
