Student cited for pepper spray incident

A student resident of the Graduate building, 138 S. Atherton St., was cited by the State College Police Department for disorderly conduct after spraying pepper spray in the hallway of the seventh floor of his building at about 12:45 a.m. yesterday.

Douglas Herrit, 20, told police he only sprayed the substance "for a second," however, police said numerous people in apartments on his floor were coughing and Alpha Fire Company was called to ventilate the floor.
