Thank you for your excellent prose (Tales of Notre Dame or bust," Sept. 12) regarding our school. We take pride in the fact that we do not set cars on fire and do, in fact, treat our guests with the utmost respect. Ask fans from Tennessee, Texas A&M, Nebraska, LSU, USC and a host of other schools about their pleasant experiences on our campus. We welcome all to visit and enjoy the game-day experience with us.
However, I do take umbrage with some of your statements: "Overall, Notre Dame fans were great and got along well with Penn Staters." I hope they don't expect the same next year when they come to State College." I would certainly hope that we would receive the same common courtesy extended to us as we have extended to you. However, I am worried because of fans such as Phil Strybuc. Certainly one could have the common decency to refrain from drinking in such a location as the front of the library. I will be attending next year's game in State College, and I think it is apparent at this point that it is going to be quite the interesting experience. I hope for your sakes you show a little more class the next time we allow you to come to our campus.
