Sept. 11 abortion protest unwanted on anniversary
On Sept. 11, 2006, I walked home after my 10:10 a.m. class.
I approached the intersection of Allen Street and College Avenue when I heard "Scotland the Brave," if my memory serves me right, being played on Scottish bagpipes.
I have heard the tune before and it was of particular interest to me because of my Scottish heritage.
I thought perhaps that it was a memorial of sorts for the victims of Sept. 11 or maybe an attempt at lifting the spirits of people passing by on the anniversary of the attacks. Instead, it was a 'Honk against abortion' protest.
Regardless of my stance on abortion, I do not ever want to be bombarded with radical opinions about any matter on my walk home from class, especially on Sept. 11, 2006.
