Assembly works to revamp USG
Members of the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) Academic Assembly listened to a speaker on a resolution to revamp USG at their meeting last night.
The resolution proposes a convention to evaluate changes needed in the student government. The implemented measures will depend on the convention’s findings, resolution author and former USG member Shawn Gordon said.
“This is an opportunity to change the student government without throwing everything aside altogether. We want to make the process more fair and democratic toward students,” Gordon said. “But I can’t predict what changes will come from the convention.”
The Assembly tabled the resolution and will vote on it in the next meeting.
The Assembly also approved Alex Ibrahim (senior-political science) as a new USG Supreme Court justice by a unanimous vote.
